My Story

Life can be difficult sometimes you might be finding yourself stuck in a rut and finding it hard to see a way out. You might be feeling anxious, depressed or struggling with eating and self-esteem. It can be hard when you have lost belief in yourself. This can be due to things that have happened in the past or present,it's tricky! Challenges and trauma can have a massive impact on our lives. Together we can start to make sense of what's going on for you.

I am a qualified Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. I have five years of experience working in the Health and Well-Being industry. The work I do looks to understand and make sense of how our thinking habits and behaviours can be holding us back from achieving our goals in life. When we can make sense of the past we can start to work on changes for a brighter future.

ALL ABOUT THERAPY
What I offer
Perhaps you're down or anxious - maybe you're unsure about the future, or just feel that you aren't living the life you were meant to lead. Whatever your needs may be, I am here to offer support. Therapy is a process of growth and self-discovery, and in my sessions I promote behavioral transformation by encouraging a positive outlook and the adoption of new thinking habits and behaviours. I have the tools and professional experience to help you get back on track.

Reaching out can be hard and finding the right person is important. We can connect in a safe space with compassion and no judgement. Together we will tailor an approach based on your therapy goals.
What happens in a session?
Each session lasts for 50 minutes and during that time you and your therapist will look at your issues and plan how to meet them by setting goals. Working together you will devise ways of managing changes in your life.

When you have agreed what areas you want to focus on and what your goals are, you start planning the sessions and discuss how to deal with your issues. At the beginning of each session, you and the counsellor will decide on the main areas you wish to work on that week. You will also be given time to discuss any issues from previous sessions.
CBT is a structured therapy which helps to use the therapeutic time efficiently. It also makes sure that important information is not missed out (the results of the homework, for instance) and that both you have a chance to think about any new issues that follow on from the session.
